Privacy Policy
Shoebill Business LLC
Who handles your information
Shoebill Business LLC operates this SHOEBILL ACADEMY training website. This policy covers the course, enrollment, learning account and Contact us form. Privacy requests can be sent to training@shoebillbiz.com. Effective date: 2026-09-14.
Information you provide
We collect enrollment and contact details such as name and email, and phone number when supplied. Where required for training identification or reporting, we collect legal name, date of birth, license number and issuing jurisdiction. Contact form submissions contain name, email, subject and message. Do not include full card numbers, Social Security numbers or unrelated sensitive documents in a contact message.
Payment and learning records
Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy terms. Our system receives transaction identifiers, payment status, amount, purchase time and contact or billing information returned by the checkout service; the course does not ask you to enter full card numbers directly into our course pages. Learning records may include access codes, access dates, module progress, assessment submissions, answers, scores, completion times and notification status.
Technical information and browser storage
Our hosting and security systems may record IP address, browser details, request time, requested pages and error logs. The course uses localStorage for preferences and learning progress and sessionStorage for the current course session. Clearing browser storage can remove locally saved preferences or progress but does not erase server-held records. Shared-device users should log out when finished.
How information is used and shared
We use information to provide access, maintain progress and completion records, process payments or refunds, answer questions, send service emails, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Relevant information is handled by payment, hosting, email and workflow service providers as needed for these tasks. For official eligible training, required information is shared with FMCSA/TPR and relevant licensing authorities. We may disclose records when legally required or needed to investigate fraud or protect legal rights.
Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 only after you allow analytics through our website controls. Google may process cookie identifiers, visited pages, approximate location derived from network information, device/browser information and referring sites to produce usage reports. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, license numbers, access codes, assessment answers or contact messages to Analytics. Our page-view implementation removes URL query strings and fragments from the page address sent in events. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising; Google advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled in this integration. You may decline or withdraw through Analytics preferences. Enabled Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals keep this integration off. Declining analytics does not prevent course access. Stripe and external services operate under their own privacy policies.
Retention and protection
We retain information for the purposes described here, including active enrollment, support, payment administration and legal obligations. For official ELDT training, records covered by 49 CFR 380.725 are retained for at least three years from generation or receipt, or longer if another rule requires it. The 365-day access period is not a record-deletion deadline. For support messages and technical logs, the retention period depends on the need to resolve your request, investigate errors or security incidents, manage disputes and satisfy legal obligations. Google Analytics user/event-level retention is configured to two months; aggregated reports may remain longer. Browser analytics choices remain until you change them or clear browser storage. No internet system can promise absolute security.
Requests and choices
Email training@shoebillbiz.com to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information. We will verify identity proportionately and respond in accordance with applicable law. Some records cannot be deleted immediately because of training, payment, dispute or other legal requirements; we will explain relevant limits. You can clear browser storage and choose not to provide optional details. Essential information is needed to supply the course. Privacy rights depend on applicable law; this notice does not assume every statutory regime applies to the business.
Children and policy changes
The service is intended for people pursuing commercial-driver training, not children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Updates to this policy will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on the website or sent to the enrollment email when appropriate; consent will be requested where legally required.
